You Won't Find Us in the Claude
Connector Directory. Connect Anyway.

Signal Congress runs a live MCP server — 18 investigative tools over 30,000+ congressional trades and 26,000+ executive-branch transactions, the same corpus behind this site. It is not listed in Anthropic's Connectors Directory, and the reason is administrative, not technical: directory submission happens through Claude organization admin settings, which only Team and Enterprise organizations have. We are a one-person shop on an individual plan. The good news: you don't need the directory. The custom-connector path takes about two minutes.

What the directory is, and why we're not in it

Anthropic's Connectors Directory is a curated catalog of reviewed MCP servers that Claude users can enable with one click. It's a sensible vetting bar — reviewed connectors, published privacy policies, tested auth flows. Submission runs through the admin settings of a Claude Team or Enterprise organization, and individual plans don't have admin settings. That's the entire story: no rejection, no review — no on-ramp for a solo operation, at least today.

To be explicit, since the distinction matters: Signal Congress is notlisted in, reviewed by, or endorsed by Anthropic. What we built is a standard remote MCP server — the same open protocol directory connectors speak — and Claude supports adding those directly. Anthropic calls this a custom connector, and it's available on paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise).

Connect in two minutes

1
Open connector settings
In Claude (web or desktop, on a paid plan), go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2
Paste the server URL
https://mcp.signalcongress.com/mcp — that is the whole configuration. No keys to copy, no JSON to edit.
3
Sign in when prompted
Claude opens an OAuth sign-in. Use the email on your Signal Congress account — the connection is scoped to your subscription tier.
4
Ask an investigative question
“Is Congress trading NVDA?” — Claude picks the right tools, chains them, and cites what came back.

Tool access follows your Signal Congress plan — the ladder runs from Researcher through Enterprise, and scopes are cumulative, so higher tiers unlock deeper tools like cross-branch convergence and standing alerts. Plans and what each unlocks are on the pricing page. If a tool comes back with "insufficient scope," that's the ladder talking, not a bug.

What it's like to use

The 18 tools cover member profiles, scored trade feeds, ticker activity, coordinated-window clusters, committee-jurisdiction leads, compliance sweeps, sector posture, executive-branch convergence, and alert subscriptions. Claude chains them the way an analyst would: resolve the member, pull the baseline, check the recent signals, drill the standout trade. Questions that work well:

>Which members of Congress traded semiconductor stocks in the last 90 days?
>Pull the trading profile for a specific senator and compare it to their own baseline.
>Who filed STOCK Act disclosures past the 45-day ceiling this quarter?
>Are any executive-branch officials and members of Congress positioned in the same ticker right now?
>What is worth writing about this week? Show me leads where a member traded inside their committee’s jurisdiction.

Every answer traces back to the same provenance-anchored rows this site serves: dated trades, amount ranges as filed, filings you can open. And because MCP is an open standard, the server isn't Claude-exclusive — any MCP-compatible client that supports remote servers can speak to it, including Anthropic's own API via its MCP connector parameter.

The same claims discipline that governs this site travels with the connector: the data reports sequence and co-occurrence in public records — it never establishes intent, causation, or coordination, and answers built on it shouldn't either. A signal means "worth a look," not "wrongdoing found."

Pairs with the skill

The connector gives Claude the tools; our Claude skill teaches it the craft — which tool answers which question, how to read the scores honestly, and the exact claim rules an investigation has to respect. They're built to be installed together.

If the directory opens a path for individual developers, we'll submit day one. Until then: two minutes, one URL.

Signal Congress is research infrastructure, not investment advice. Everything served over the MCP connector is derived from public government records — STOCK Act PTRs, OGE Form 278 filings, and federal corroboration sources — and every signal links back to its primary source.
