Signal Congress runs a live MCP server — 18 investigative tools over 30,000+ congressional trades and 26,000+ executive-branch transactions, the same corpus behind this site. It is not listed in Anthropic's Connectors Directory, and the reason is administrative, not technical: directory submission happens through Claude organization admin settings, which only Team and Enterprise organizations have. We are a one-person shop on an individual plan. The good news: you don't need the directory. The custom-connector path takes about two minutes.
Anthropic's Connectors Directory is a curated catalog of reviewed MCP servers that Claude users can enable with one click. It's a sensible vetting bar — reviewed connectors, published privacy policies, tested auth flows. Submission runs through the admin settings of a Claude Team or Enterprise organization, and individual plans don't have admin settings. That's the entire story: no rejection, no review — no on-ramp for a solo operation, at least today.
To be explicit, since the distinction matters: Signal Congress is notlisted in, reviewed by, or endorsed by Anthropic. What we built is a standard remote MCP server — the same open protocol directory connectors speak — and Claude supports adding those directly. Anthropic calls this a custom connector, and it's available on paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise).
Tool access follows your Signal Congress plan — the ladder runs from Researcher through Enterprise, and scopes are cumulative, so higher tiers unlock deeper tools like cross-branch convergence and standing alerts. Plans and what each unlocks are on the pricing page. If a tool comes back with "insufficient scope," that's the ladder talking, not a bug.
The 18 tools cover member profiles, scored trade feeds, ticker activity, coordinated-window clusters, committee-jurisdiction leads, compliance sweeps, sector posture, executive-branch convergence, and alert subscriptions. Claude chains them the way an analyst would: resolve the member, pull the baseline, check the recent signals, drill the standout trade. Questions that work well:
Every answer traces back to the same provenance-anchored rows this site serves: dated trades, amount ranges as filed, filings you can open. And because MCP is an open standard, the server isn't Claude-exclusive — any MCP-compatible client that supports remote servers can speak to it, including Anthropic's own API via its MCP connector parameter.
The connector gives Claude the tools; our Claude skill teaches it the craft — which tool answers which question, how to read the scores honestly, and the exact claim rules an investigation has to respect. They're built to be installed together.
If the directory opens a path for individual developers, we'll submit day one. Until then: two minutes, one URL.
