Operation “GO”

Operation “GO” (as in “Get Ours” as in our own oil and natural gas) has the following mission:

To send a message to members of Congress by sending them as many “Green Lights” (represented by green buttons with the title of Operation “GO” on them) and letting Congress know that they have a “Green Light” to proceed in pushing for energy independence.

Operation “GO” believes:

That the United States is unreasonably beholden to foreign interests when it comes to our energy needs.

That we have been put in this position by Congress after Congress (and President after President) that have passed laws which make it unnecessarily difficult to explore for and recover oil and natural gas within our own borders and our territorial coastal waters.

That it is probably unlikely that America will ever be totally “energy independent” but by increasing our own domestic production we can begin to rely less on oil from hostile foreign interests.

That for the time being oil is the lifeblood of the American economy and that over time this will probably change. But this should change through the normal cycles and the wants of the American people and not by government mandates which exceed the government’s Constitutional authority.

That alternative sources of energy are reasonable to pursue and should be pursued – but through free markets and private initiative without government interference.

That it is time for Congress and its members to cease interfering with the rights of individual states to pursue the resources that exist within their own borders.

That increasing available supplies of oil and natural gas will invariably decrease the price of such commodities and alleviate a heavy burden carried by many Americans and in particular the poorest Americans most of all.

That it is time to act now to reverse the situation they have put us in.
