Why was Signal Congress founded?
To send a more creative message to members of Congress beyond the typical petition.
Does it cost me anything to participate?
It does not cost you anything to support our campaign and tell your friends about it. However if you decide that you would like to participate by sending buttons there is a nominal fee to cover the cost of the buttons and the shipping of them to members of Congress (or yourself if you want one for yourself). The total cost to send one button to one member of Congress is $2.75 ($1.75 for the button and $1.00 for shipping).
Why are you charging for the buttons?
Signal Congress is a purely grassroots organization. As such we have elected not to solicit funding in order to not have any appearance of impropriety and avoid having claims that we are in the pocket of “special interest” groups. Signal Congress operates solely on the will and support of those that agree with our mission to send a creative and clear message to Congress. Since we have not funded our efforts through outside sources, nominal costs are going to be incurred by our supporters to help send this message.
How much do you charge for buttons?
Buttons (and magnets) are provided at cost from Cafepress.com (whom we are using to produce and ship them). Buttons (and magnets) are $1.75 each with discounts for bulk quantities. Economy shipping costs $1.00. We have not marked them up one solitary cent because SignalCongress.com is not about making money. Our mission is to send a message.
How do I send buttons to members of Congress?
When placing your order for a button, you will be asked to specify a shipping address in addition to a billing address. Simply look up the member of Congress you want to ship a button to and enter it into the delivery address fields. It is as simple as that!

You can also check the box that indicates this is a “gift order” and type in a little message to your recipient.
Suggested messages are:
“Drill NOW!”
“Stop stonewalling domestic drilling!”
Or something to this effect. Be creative but don’t be crude.
Will Signal Congress make money? If so, how will it be spent?
Even though we are not marking up the items we are providing for our supporters, Cafepress.com does pay “volume bonuses” based on certain thresholds of items sold. So it is possible that if enough people support Signal Congress and our mission that we will actually receive some compensation from Cafepress. IF this is the case, Signal Congress’ founder, J.J. Jackson, will donate all proceeds beyond the operating costs of this site to charity.
Once again, this is not about making money. This is about sending a message.
What charities will you support with proceeds?
We will cross that bridge when we come to it. Mr. Jackson is partial to the Freedom Alliance however. IF any profits are earned from SignalCongress.com and our efforts we will make an official announcement and fully disclose who has been donated to and in what amounts.
Is Cafepress affiliated or otherwise associated with SignalCongress.com?
No, at least not beyond being our source for the products we have available on this website. Cafepress has not been approached about our mission and the fact that we are using them to produce products should not be inferred to be an endorsement by them of our mission.
